Susan Goldman elected President of the International Society of the Learning Sciences

Susan Goldman is to be congratulated on being elected the new president of the International Society of the Learning Sciences.

Her three-year term begins this June and its start coincides with events at this year's 9th International Conference of the Learning Sciences (ICLS 2010) that is being held here in Chicago. ICLS 2010 runs from June 28th - July 2.

UIC's Learning Sciences Research Institute and Learning Sciences Doctoral Program are the hosts and organizers for this year's conference with its focus on Learning in the Disciplines.

Goldman is a Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Co-Director of UIC¹s interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Learning, Instruction, and Teacher Development. She is a member of the Cognitive Division in Psychology and of the Language, Literacy, and Culture and Educational Psychology programs in the College of Education. She also has served as Co-Director of the Learning Technology Center at Vanderbilt University for 12 years, and a professor in the Psychology Department.
